We first reported of Audi's R20 just a few months back. (HERE)
Since then, new renderings of the diesel-hybrid street-legal Le Mans racer have surfaced.
The model is expected to have 700hp from the combination V6 Turbo Diesel (550hp), and two electric motors (150hp).
While Audi does have the R8 (& R8 GT), this will bring them into the upper class against the likes of Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Aventador, Bentley Continental GT3, and Porsche 918 Spyder.

Posted by Hans von Dietrich und.......... 0 commentsVolkswagen's XL1 Plug-in Hybrid Production Version Previewed
Posted by Hans von Dietrich und.......... 0 commentsThe Volkswagen XL1 (originally named 1-liter) is nothing new for VW fans. However, it appears the long two year track of intel and new photos is coming to an end. Volkswagen will finally reveal the production version of the new Plug-in Hybrid 'XL1' in less than two weeks at the Geneva MotorShow. The small 2-seater has a Driving Range of 261 MPG and powered by a 0.8L 2-Cylinder TDI with 47hp, while the electric motor produces 27hp for a grand total of 74hp. Power is sent to the rear wheels with a 7-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission allowing for a 100mph top speed, and 0-62 of 12.7 seconds. Charging only takes 1.5 hours using a household wall socket, and can drive for 50 miles in pure EV mode.
No official word on availability date, but it is expected to be priced around €45,500 ($60,000 US).
With it's unique styling, gullwing doors, cameras instead of side mirrors, total weight only 1,753 pounds, and amazing aerodynamics; there is no wonder why it's the most fuel-efficient production car in the world.

Transmission will be offered with both six-speed manual and dual clutch DSG. 0-62mph only takes 7.5 seconds with a top speed of 143mph. Expect the new GTD to go on sale in Europe this summer.

Volkswagen will show off the new e-Golf soon in Geneva, but some information has been shown early. With it's subtle styling and slight resemblance of XL1 front bumper it's obvious an electric car. The front-wheel drive e-Golf comes with 115hp, has a top speed of 84mph, and goes 0-62mph in 11.8 seconds. Most important is the drive range, which can travel an impressive 109 miles on a single charge. The lithium ion battery is positioned under the rear seats to keep cargo space a maximum. Charging only takes 20 minutes with the quick charging system, and 5 hours using a household wall socket.

Audi has officially revealed the new RS Q3, and will debut it just weeks away in Geneva. Styling almost exactly from the 'concept' and following the direction of the other 'RS' models. Power will come from the 2.5L Inline 5-Cylinder Turbo producing 306hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. With its 7-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission and Quattro AWD, 0-60mph only takes 5.2 seconds. Suspension has been stiffened and the ECS a 'Sport' mode. Also, the body is lowered one inch from the Q3. Weight has been distributed more evenly, also moving the battery to the center. It will go on sale in Europe first this fall priced around €54,600 ($73,100 US).
A leaked video was found online (see below), which should satisfy until Audi gives more officially.

What was once thought to be the soon released Mk7 Golf R, will in fact be the Mk6 Cabriolet Golf R. This model will finish out the final run of the Mk6 in true VW fashion.
First shown as a 'concept' at the 2011 Wörthersee event, and more recently with the promo video (see below). This Cabrio R just like the Scirocco R will only be offered with front wheel drive. Power will come from the 2.0 TSI producing 265bhp with 258lb-ft of torque. 0-62mph takes just 6.4 seconds and has a top speed of 155mph.
Volkswagen is teasing the reveal of the Cabrio R with a now melting block of ice and a countdown. Click HERE to view the Cabriolet R Website.
Expect official details and photos this week.

The Volkswagen Comfort Coupé known as the 'CC' is currently undergoing yet another refresh. The 2014-2015 model will be on the MQB platform, with more interior room, cargo room, improved driving dynamics, tuned suspension, and better fuel efficiency just to name a few.
There is even rumor of a Shooting Brake to appeal to the Panamera crowd, but at a lower price bracket.
Here is a rendering of what is expected, following VW's new styling direction.
