Volkswagen will now be offering the R-Line package for the Beetle. The kit is only visually with no performance upgrades. It includes a new front bumper, rear diffuser, and body matched door sill/ side skirts. The interior has grey stitching and accents with R logos on the headrests. The exterior only kit is priced at $1,665 and with the interior it's bumped to $2,160.

Rumor has it that a lighter more nimble version of the Mk7 GTI will be available to commemorate the 40th anniversary in 2014.

It will be a limited production and is currently known as the 'Carbon Edition' GTI. Using carbon fiber inside two thin pieces of aluminium allows it to be welded in place. Shaving off a total of 440 pounds it will be used mainly on the roof, hood, and rear floor. The weight reduction model will also be used for both hybrid and electric Golf's. We expect to see the new GTI unveiled later this month.

It has recently come to light that inside executives at Volkswagen are considering to bring the Microbus back and into production. Just like they did with the Beetle, the new revamp Microbus design fits in well with the family.

Since VW is pushing hard to take the top spot for sales, they need to open to other markets. The Bulli Concept which showcased early last year does just that offering an alternative option to small CUV buyers of Kia and Scion/Toyota.

If it gets the green light, we could see it launched as a 2014 model. Also, Volkswagen is said to be developing a new heritage range which could spawn other "new" models.
