For those lucky ones who can afford the new 918, there's good news. A report has come out that Porsche has not sold all units of the new Hypercar. Porsche will build just 918 units over a course of 2-3 years, and each buyer must put down a $200,000 (U.S.) deposit. Germany will get the car first, but a Porsche spokesman said th U.S. will be their top market. Each dealership in the U.S. will receive at least one car, which means around 200 units are pre-destined for North America.

Audi's head of R&D Wolfgang Dürheimer confirmed they are developing fuel cell powered Audi's. The current model underway for testing will be the A7. Fuel cells produce electricity from an electro-chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, while only emitting water/steam out the back. The electricity generated is sent to a battery or electric motor(s) for propulsion. This is vastly more useful than an electric-only vehicle since there are no lengthy delays for charging, and earth friendly with minimal cost.
This will be Audi's second time (publicly) that they have developed fuel cell technology. They first showed it with a concept Q5 in 2009.
If this reaches production it can be a game changer, but not without sacrifice. Hydrogen fuel stations would need to be built all-over, which can takes years to be effective.

Sources are reporting that leaked information suggests the new Macan will be priced around 42,100€ ($54,500 US) when it goes on sale in Spring 2014.
Based on the Audi Q5 platform, the Macan will use far more aluminium reducing the weight by 130kg (287lbs). It's likely four-wheel drive will be standard across all variants, since it will be offered at launch. No official word on powerplants, but we expect both the six-cylinder and four-cylinder engines in standard and diesel form. Horsepower should range from 250 - 400 depending on model type. A Hybrid, S, and GTS version are thought to come one year after launch. There are even rumors of a two-door model for a true sports version. Styling will be very sporty, and obviously Porsche with a strong stance. Also, the rear is rumored to be more like the 911 with its sloping rear and wide slim taillights. The interior will be very similar to the current 911, Panamera, and Boxster/Cayman.
It will debut this November at the 2013 Los Angeles Motor Show.

It has been confirmed by Audi that the highly anticipated R8 e-Tron will not make production.
The main cause is that the battery technology did not develop as fast as expected. Also, costs to build the batteries didn't decrease in price as Audi had hoped.
Audi built 10 cars in total that will never be sold. They will now be evaluated and studied for charging times and range of pure electric cars with existing battery technology.
Currently, the vehicle weighs 3,924 pounds, and with twin electric motors they produce 376hp together making a 0-62mph time of 4.2 seconds. Using a household socket, full charge only takes 12 hours with a driving range of 134 miles.
Audi said that for the price they would have to charge for the R8 e-Tron, they didn't see it with big enough impact across a broad market.

With the recent 'Design Vision' GTI debut in Wörthersee, Volkswagen showed us a new VR6. This 3.0L 24v six-cylinder could possibly replace the current 3.6L seen in such models like the Passat CC. It has been rumored that a new VR6 is expected for more future models. It may also hint the possible VR6 return to the Golf GTI and future Golf R model.
The concept 3.0L VR6 produces 503hp with the help of Twin-Turbos, but with the turbos removed we could be looking at a factory engine producing just over 300hp. When Volkswagen's Head of R&D Ulrich Hackenberg was asked about this 3.0L VR6 turbo or non-turbo engine being produced, he smiled and said "nothing has been decided at this time".
The 3.0L VR6 was developed for the Chinese market (since any engine over 3.0L has a much higher tax), but after appearing in the concept GTI it does open the idea for the VR6 return.
The distinct growl, and low-end torque of that narrow angle six-cylinder is what made sporty VW's so popular from 1991-2003. With the nearly 10 year absence, let's hope Volkswagen is ready to bring that back into the Golf (maybe even Scirocco) platform. It may be nose heavy and create plenty of understeer, but driving a VR6 VW is a guilty pleasure for any car enthusiast.
Side note, it was confirmed by a Senior Porsche engineer that this VR6 is not in any way related to new engines being developed for the Porsche Macan.

The 3rd generation TT is still under secrecy, but Audi claims it will reclaim the spirit of the original TT. Built on the MQB chassis, it will be lighter in weight, have a simplified interior with digital instrument gauges, and an exterior that demands attention. The 2.0L turbo four-cylinder will return as the standard engine with 220 - 240hp, while the TTS will have around 300hp. The TT RS is expected to return with a pumped up five-cylinder turbo producing around 380hp.
It is set to debut in late 2014 as a 2015 model.

New details are starting to emerge around the next (991) GT2. It's being reported that it will use the same 3.8L engine from the Turbo S producing 560hp. Unlike the Turbo S, this GT2 will only be rear wheel drive and focus on lightweight technology. With an updated PDK, 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) will take just under 3 seconds. It is expected to debut next March at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
The more extreme GT2 RS version will continue for the 991 one year later for its reveal in 2015. It's rumored to have anywhere from 620-650hp.

The 1936 Auto Union Type C racer dominated the racing world. Designed by Ferdinand Porsche, the mid engine 6.0L Supercharged V16 produced 520hp and was driven by Hans Stuck who was one of Germany's most successful racing drivers.
Romanian artist Mircea Raiescu created a modern version of the supercar from the 1930's. This rendering is so great that we had to share it with everyone. We can only imagine how amazing a new 'Type C' Audi could build if a new version was commissioned.
