Internally known as codename 'Scorpion', Audi's new Supercar is on track and in the design phase. While it is known the car will be based off the Le Mans race project, the decision on powerplant remains to be seen. Audi would like to use a diesel-electric hybrid, but diesel lacks an appeal from two major markets (China & North America). It has not been officially named, but it's rumored to be called the R20 or R10. Regardless the name, we expect the design to be extreme and make a statement on the road.
Also, Audi's head of R&D Wolfgang Dürheimer did say they are working with Porsche on this project, and it's possible to see many of the technologies from the 918 Spyder carried over.
