The long rumored and awaited Audi S1 is finally here. With the official debut next month in Geneva, this hatchback sport compact promises to be a hit.
Power comes from a turbocharged 2.0L TFSI producing 228hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. With its permanent Quattro all-wheel drive system, 0 to 100 km/h only takes 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. The suspension has been heavily modified with a four-link design instead of the compound link found on the A1. This among other upgrades make the S1 extremely agile. Brakes have also been increased for maximum stopping power.
The exterior has been redesigned with new bumpers, side skirts, roof spoiler, black accents, xenon headlights, and LED taillights.
Both the S1 (2-door) and S1 Sportback (5-door) will go on sale in Germany starting the second quarter of 2014 priced at €29,950 ($40,820) and €30,800 ($42,025).
