SpyShots: Next Porsche Cayman

These are the best pictures yet
of Porsche’s all-new Cayman. Spied undergoing hot-weather testing in Spain, it’s clear to
see that the second-generation coupé will stand out more than the current car, with a larger rear window and lower overall profile giving it a sleeker shape.

The new glass hatch should also boost practicality, by increasing luggage space and access. Every other body panel
is new, with an evolution of the 911-style nose at the front.

Under the skin, the Cayman is identical to the all-new Boxster drop-top. Both cars go on sale next year, featuring revised suspension, a higher-quality cabin and new engines.

Sources have revealed that Porsche is developing a more efficient unit to lower CO2 emissions without harming performance. This is rumoured to take the form of a turbocharged, direct-injection 2.5-litre flat four-cylinder unit, which can produce around 350bhp in S trim. Sales are
due to start in late 2012.
