The Europe-only Audi RS6 is a pretty hot package, whether in Avant or recently added sedan configuration. In stock form, the car packs a twin-turbocharged, 5.0-liter V-10 engine good for 580 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. For more go, German tuner MTM turned up the power in an RS6 sedan to a claimed 730 hp and 634 lb-ft. Wait, more go? Okay, sure.
The company claims the RS6 Clubsport can take down the 0-to-62-mph sprint in 3.6 seconds and forecasts a top speed of 217 mph. Last year, an MTM-tweaked RS6 Avant hit 213 mph on the Nardo ring in Italy, so the claim is certainly feasible.
To make the extra power, MTM fits a new air intake and stainless-steel exhaust and fiddles with the engine computer. The Clubsport sits on an MTM adjustable suspension and 20- or 21-inch wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires. The RS6’s optional carbon-ceramic brakes are the defaults, although MTM strongly advises upgrading the stoppers to 15.9-inch discs with six-piston calipers. The company also says it has reduced the RS6’s weight and changed the six-speed automatic’s gearing, but offers no further details.
MTM nixed the car’s rear seat, adding a roll cage and two Recaro buckets with six-point harnesses in front. There’s a carbon-fiber diffuser and front splitter, too. Unfortunately, MTM slathered the exterior in a peculiar mix of orange, gray, and black. The questionable looks, however, would not stop us from driving the wheels off the Clubsport.
