Audi is keeping in some way the same line on S models – aluminum mirrors, a big chrome front grill and 20” alloy wheels from R8.

Early rumors say the 2012 Audi S8 will be powered by a new V8 engine that will not come from Lamborghini as the one found on actual S8. According to same rumors, that engine will provide around 450 hp.

Other rumors are saying that S8 is expected to use the 5.0 litre FSI biturbo V10 engine, which currently powers the Audi RS6 (C6) with 427 kilowatts (581 PS; 573 bhp), and it has been reported that the new S8’s engine could be tuned up to 600 hp (447 kW).

However we expect more then 500 bhp. The W12 early announced produces 500bhp -a power that comes from a new W12 6.3Liter engine.
We expect to see the real S8 arrive by the time of the Paris Motor Show in September, but this reader rendering will have to do for now.
