Back in June, Volkswagen revealed its Temporary Automated Pilot (TAP) system at the HAVEit (Highly Automated Vehicle for Intelligent Transport) event in the city of Boras in Sweden.
TAP can assume control of the car using all its active safety systems without any intervention of the driver, who simply monitors the situation.

According to Volkswagen, it operates at speeds of up to 130 km/h (80 mph), automatically controlling steering, accelerating and braking, obeying speed limits, and forbidding overtaking from the right. Of course, it can be at any time overridden by the driver if he or she deems it necessary.

Now HAVEit and VW have released this video demonstrating the operation of the TAP system in a Passat. And whether you like or detest the idea of handing over the control of your vehicle to TAP, you can watch the video and draw your own conclusions.
