VW Beetle tuned by VWvortex for SEMA

The latest project from the people of VWvortex.com have created this "Super Beetle" for the upcoming SEMA show in Las Vegas.

Starting with a 2013 2.0L TSI, they added an APR Stage IV GTX Turbocharger, APR ECU flash, upgraded top end, and high flow intercooler producing 500hp. While those bolt-on's are impressive, the custom 4-MOTION taken from the Golf R is what sets it apart from others. Putting that power to all four wheels is done by adding a race clutch, and rowing through the gears with race short shifter. Riding on 19' inch wheels, and utilizing Audi TTRS six-piston brakes makes this unique Beetle a true performance vehicle.

2 New SUV's coming from VW

Volkswagen has confirmed that they are building a new SUV at each end of the spectrum.

First, a compact SUV smaller than the Tiguan (think Nissan Juke size). Second, a larger SUV bigger than the Touareg will offer a seven-seat layout and alternative to the minivan market. While the smaller SUV will appeal to both European and North American markets, the larger one is aimed specifically at the latter.

The new models could be here as early as 2014.

2014 Volkswagen Mk7 GTI with Video

Here is the new Mk7 Golf GTI unveiled in Paris. While this is only titled a "concept" GTI, we are sure it's the production version as well.

Like the Golf, this GTI is not a huge change over the Mk6. It has sharper styling, larger wheels, and slight bump in horsepower. The red stripe through the headlamps is creating controversy, and the bumper looks like a DIY paint job owners of the Mk6 have been doing. Some good news about this Mk7 is the optional performance package which includes another 10hp bump topping out at 230hp and limited slip differential.

Love or hate it, clean and simple VW's are here to stay.
