Volkswagen Amarok Canyon concept unveiled

This is the Amarok Canyon concept that was built to illustrate one of the many diverse uses. Designed for the extreme sport of freestyle kayaking, it features wider fender flares, a lift kit of 40mm, light bar above the roof, side steps, and of course two carbon fiber kayaks.

Power comes from a new 2.0L Twin-Turbo Diesel with 178bhp and 295lb-ft of torque linked to a manual transmission with 4MOTION all-wheel drive and locking rear differential.

(Side note - The Mk7 Golf GTD is rumored to have a twin-turbo 2.0L diesel. Volkswagen is known for creating fun one-off concepts just to show a new powerplant or vice versa.)
