How do we know this is the Jetta GLI, other than the obvious blacked-out honeycomb grill? Ah, well, check those red brake calipers. We also see evidence of supportive looking leather seats with contrasting red stitching. Redline looks to be marked at 6,000, a little early perhaps given the 6,200-rpm redline in the GTI, but probably close enough.
In the interest of cost savings, we're not expecting a big performance increase on this VW Jetta GLI. So figure about 200 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque from VW's 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder just like in the GTI. Sales are likely to begin sometime in 2011.
