Audi launches A4 and A5 Black Editions

Audi has released details of its new Black Edition spec for the A4 and A5. The Black Edition model is based on the S-Line trim level and adds a gloss black grille surround, matt black window, number plate and fog light surrounds and an upgrade to 19-inch dark titanium-finish alloys.

The interior features piano black trim and a Bang&Olufsen stereo with a DAB digital radio and iPod interface. A4 saloon buyers get the Audi Parking System Plus, which incorporates front and rear parking sensors and a visual display inside the car, while Avant estate models get tinted privacy glass.

The Black Edition upgrade is available for all A4 and A5 Coupe engine variants and carries a €1,428 premium over the S line specification. Audi claims the Black Edition kit is worth €1,600. Prices for the A4 range €31,112 to €43,538, and A5 Coupe prices from €35,629 to €44,946.

Audi has also introduced Technik specification on the A4. The spec is based on the SE model and adds leather seats, DVD sat-nav, iPod connevtivity and Audi’s Parking System Plus.

Available on the 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre TDI diesel models, in saloon or Avant estate form, A4 Technik models carry a premium of €1,045 over their SE equivalents. The firm equates the extra kit as a €2,971 benefit over the price of the individually specified options. Prices range from €31,169 to €40,238.
