We have known that the U.S. will get the a NMS (New Midsize Sedan) Volkswagen to replace the Passat. A sedan bigger and cheaper than a Passat. But why are Americans not really buying a Passat? Well, simply because it was too small and too expensive for U.S. concepts. Thanks to these spyshots we now have a rough idea of how the poor-man's Passat will look like.
The NMS (final model name is not yet known) is scheduled to be released in the fourth quarter of 2011. It will be bigger than the Passat but, smaller than the Phaeton. The NMS is targeting a price of around $20,000(U.S.) Americans will appreciate that even though the quality is lower. VW hopes to sell around 120,000 units each year about.
