Volkswagen might be bringing 7 concepts to Geneva

Volkswagen plans on knocking off Toyota and General Motors to become the largest automaker in the world by 2018. That's a lofty goal; one that will need plenty of new and revised product to achieve. The German automaker has already taken a few steps to address its volume aspirations, including committing to $71 billion in product investment between 2011 and 2015.

Reports are that VW plans to kick off the product onslaught with as many as seven concepts next month at the Geneva Motor Show. The product sneak-peeks will span VW, Seat, Skoda, one or two Audis and two VW-badged concepts from the recently acquired Italdesign Giugiaro group. We'll likely see at least one vehicle (like the XL1) that promises obscene levels of efficiency, and we wouldn't be surprised to see VW's Roadster or the New Beetle, either.

We don't expect all of these concepts to make their way to production, but they will likely showcase the upcoming designs and technologies we can expect from Volkswagen.
