The 2010 Beijing Auto Show saw the debut of Audi's long-wheelbase A8 flagship sedan. The range-topping 2011 A8 L gets a 6.3-liter W12 engine (which supersedes the 6.0-liter version). Output is rated at 494 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque going to a Quattro all-wheel drive system via an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. Zero to 60 mph is a claimed 4.9 seconds and top speed is limited to the customary 155 mph. Available bells and whistles include adaptive air suspension, massaging seats, a 1,400-watt B&O sound system with 19 (count 'em) speakers, and a refrigerator. The long-wheelbase model adds another five inches of rear legroom over the standard sedan. It heads Stateside this fall, first with a 372-hp 4.2-liter V8, then next spring with the W12.
