According to the latest reports, it appears that Porsche is planning to invest an amount in the high hundreds of millions of euros in its three German plants in Stuttgart, Weissach and Ludwigsburg.

Sources also confirmed the fact, that Porsche’s board could also approve next week a smaller version of the Cayenne as a brand new fifth model line, in order to boost its sales. For those who don’t know, Porsche lost its independence to Volkswagen last year, after its previous management under Wendelin Wiedeking almost bankrupted the company when trying to acquire the much-larger Volkswagen AG. Wendelin Wiedeking was sacked and replaced by Vw’s CEO, Mr. Martin Winterkorn. In order to keep jobs safe in its German plants, Porsche will also move the production of the Boxster Cabrio from Finland’s Valmet Automotive to Stuttgart beginning next month.
