In a recent interview with Auto Motor and Sport, Audi's design chief Wolfgang Egger said that the next A4 will have a more sporty and muscular styling with improved aerodynamics.

It will also have a more upright three-dimensional front grille with larger defined wheel arches. There will even be a plug-in hybrid model able to drive approximately 50 km (31 miles) in pure electric mode.

The B9 A4 is being developed to directly edge out BMW and Mercedes which are slightly leading sales in Europe.
