Porsche has started working on the all new 960 Supercar. The new model will slot between the 911 GT2 RS and 918 Spyder. Engineers will use Volkswagen's new MSB-M (mid-engine, rear or all-wheel drive) chassis. Power will come from a twin-turbo 3.8L flat-six producing 600 hp.

Many reports are calling the 960 a four-door model. However, with a mid-engine setup it seems unlikely. Since the target competition is Ferrari's 458, my bet is on a two-door coupe. Also, with Ferrari clearly in its sights, the 960 project has even taken on the name "Fefi" meaning Ferrari fighter.

The rumored schedule release date is said to be for late 2015.
Pricing around €250,000 ($328,800 US)
