With the recent addition of Ducati to the Audi family, it seems fitting for a 2-wheel project to appear.
This however is a little different and is called the e-Bike. It has been in the works for some time now prior to the Ducati merger. Set to be showcased at next weeks show in Wörthersee, Audi will debut their hybrid bike. The bike can function simply on human power, but also has an electric motor in the center delivering 3hp. With its carbon fiber frame, lithium-ion battery (only takes 2.5 hours to fully charge), and 26" inch wheels the entire set-up weighs 46 pounds. There are several modes available that will assist with maintaining a speed or when going up hill. It has a 9 speed hydraulic gear shift and disk brakes. Electronics onboard include front LED headlamp on the handlebars, rear LED taillight, and computer in the top tube.
