One is not really happy with the current Scirocco model in Wolfsburg, we hear more and more. "The back must be a true sports coupe, " CEO Martin Winterkorn is to have demanded. Exactly in this direction is what the planned successor for 2014. More character is already important because that is what the three-door VW Golf VII (to 2013) will contribute also to the visually dashing coupe-style. There must show the Scirocco now clearer sports line.

The Scirocco II will also come with a flat and longer front end, its roof will also extend more clearly towards the rear and will be sharper. This brings even more headroom in the second row of seats that are currently only fit for seating dwarfs. More space is planned already because the new Scirocco is based on the new modular Querbaukasten of the group - at least two inches longer wheelbase and short body overhangs.

Moreover, according to information from Wolfsburg, the "total noise level" of the 2+2 seater front-wheel drive will improve significantly. A beautifully composed, rich engine sound with less rolling and wind noise. Even more important is the planned weight diet, for body and chassis will be a total of up to 100 kg lighter.

Thanks to weight advantage of the new Scirocco does not require extreme motor upgrade. The TSI petrol engines, ranging far 122-265 PS, consumption, the sporty R model may gain strength to around 280 hp. Even the often mentioned dieselnde two-liter twin turbo (BiTDI) with around 200 hp for the coupe is in conversation.
