Audi will officially present the Q5 hybrid version of the compact SUV at the upcoming Los Angeles motor show in late November. The car will debut on the market in 2011 and will be the first compact hybrid SUV in it's class.
At the moment it is not known what will be under the hood, but most likely the 2.0 TFSI four-cylinder 211-hp combined with 34-hp electric motor developing a total of 245-hp. This is the same set-up that Audi brought with the concept A8 hybrid in March at the Geneva Motor Show.
There is also rumor of the hybrid Q5 adopting the same option as the Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid and Porsche Cayenne Hybrid. Both vehicles powered from the 3.0 TFSI V6 333-hp, coupled to the electric motor of 47-hp, for a total of 380 hp.
In addition, the hybrid Q5 will share many components with the A4 hybrid scheduled to debut next year.
